COMEDY WALK Performers
Want to perform, host or crew at COMEDY WALK? See below...
- Who: The typical COMEDY WALK performer is a working
comedian who appears at clubs and on television, but is not yet
a recognized name. There are 22 spots available for each show.
Performers are selected by casting director Gabrielle Pantera.
The executive producer is Robin Rowe.
- What: If selected, you'll do one or two 10-minute
sets. If two sets, that will be at two different venues in the
same neighborhood. You'll walk between them (thus COMEDY WALK).
- When: COMEDY WALK is scheduled for the second Thursday
of each month in downtown Los Angeles, the same day as the Los
Angeles Art Walk. The show is 8:30pm to 10pm. There's a planning
meeting at 7:30pm, an hour before the show. All performers are
invited but not required to attend that. Performer check-in is
20 minutes prior to your show time. The evening's show schedule
is part of the program that will be available online a week before
the show. Parking is free on the street if you can find it. Many
lots and garages available for $6 flat rate.
- Where: Downtown Los Angeles near 4th and Spring.
- Why: COMEDY WALK promotes comedians and downtown.
It's also a lot of fun.
- How Much: We give away FREE tickets. COMEDY WALK is
possible through the generosity of theater owners, performers,
hosts, crew and sponsors.

COMEDY WALK Hosts
- Who: COMEDY WALK hosts are actors with show host and
comedy experience. Hosts do crowd warm-up ("How's everyone
tonight? Who else is from Chicago?"...), introduce performers,
thank performers, and most significantly, keep the show on time.
Being on time is critical because comedians appear in other venues.
The show runs like a train schedule. Hosting is not like being
an M.C. at a comedy club. That is, unless an act is late. If
that happens you need to be able to keep the room warm, have
something prepared or improvise.
- What: Hosts are selected by executive producer Robin
Rowe. Being attractive, likable, outgoing, easy to understand,
prompt, and able to follow detailed instructions are key criteria.
Hosts must have a good watch and a flashlight.

and directing the audience where to go. Wranglers are the traffic
cops of COMEDY WALK. Camera operators shoot Mini-DV Handi-cam
footage of the show.
